customise your clothing workshop ticket

fancy an evening of getting creative, making new friends & upcycling your old clothing into something you love?

...then this is the workshop for you!

in this workshop you will be customising & upcycling your own clothing items - from painting to appliqué to adding embellishments and tassels to hand-sewing, to distressing and adding patches, you will be taught methods for creating your own unique pieces from what you already have - skills you can take away with you! 

you will be shown how to use all lots of methods to customise your clothing to your liking, with lots & lots of materials provided so you can get creative & crafty and make your own super special pieces of wearable art and give old clothes a new lease of life!

please note; this workshop is suitable for adults & young people; from beginners up to any skill level, everyone is welcome! i'll be there to help & guide you along the way, but please note that parental advisory is advised for children or teenagers when using items such as scissors or sewing needles.

what to bring:

- please be sure to bring your own piece clothing to customise - you can bring multiple items to work on in the time frame 

- you can also bring your own patches or anything else you'd like to use for your clothing 

- i would recommend wearing something you don't mind getting messy (just incase!) or you can bring an apron if you like (aprons are not provided)

what's included:

- all the materials you need to DIY and decorate your clothing (fabric paint, embroidered and embellished patches, various fabrics, felt, pom poms, wool, embroidery thread, beads, sequins, sew-on gems & embellishments, fringes, ribbons, lace, badges)

- all the tools you need; paintbrushes, scissors, sewing tools, palettes.

add-ons:

there will be some patches provided in the workshop, but if you like you can purchase some of my own original patch & badge designs to add to your creation - you can buy them on the night; they range between £1-£15, you can pay in cash or by card.

who's running it?

this workshop is run by me, Zara Street - i'm the Manchester-based designer behind positive lifestyle brand Keep It Bright, who has been customising and upcycling clothing for over 20 years and has made clothing that has been loved & worn many times by stars like Miley Cyrus & Ariana Grande as well as thousands of others worldwide.

when?

Thursday 13th June - 6pm til 9:30pm - please do try to arrive by 6pm so we can all start the demonstrations on time together.

where?

this workshop will take place inside the shipping container space inside the Foundry Project bar in Manchester City Centre (Thomas St, Manchester M4 1BD) - it's in the Northern Quarter, just a couple of minutes walk from Manchester Arndale.

you can buy hot drinks, cold drinks & food from the bar if you'd like.

the closest tram stop is Shudehill - which is just 1 minute walk from Foundry Project.

parking: there is parking in the multi-storey carpark at Manchester City Centre, just a few minutes walk away.

tickets are non-refundable but are transferrable to someone else’s name if you can’t make it.
